Rin Kokonoe (九重 りん, Kokonoe Rin) is the most-focused upon female character in the series, opposite to Aoki. Rin is a young girl in third grade (currently fourth grade) who has an intense crush on her teacher Daisuke .

Background
Rin was Aki 's unborn daughter, whom father didn't agree of having her, fearing that he may lose Aki if she was still accepting on holding her (Rin) despite the risk that she may die for giving birth of her child. Her father suggested on aborting her, but Aki refused on doing so, causing their separation and end of relationship.
Later, when Rin was born, she was cared by her mother, and Reiji Kokonoe (first cousin once removed), however, after her mother's death due lungs cancer (two years before the current series), Rin was took in custody and still being raised by her mother's cousin Reiji (who in love with her mother).
Appearance
She has long straight blond hair, which is usually tied up in two large pony-tails that reach down to her knees. Each tail has four pink circled ribbons, which in total would eight (counting both tails). Her eyes are brown. She normally dresses a little too "sexy" for her age.

She has a mischievous nature and has proclaimed herself to be Daisuke's girlfriend; she will go to great lengths to make him fall in love with her. This has resulted in her crossing moral and legal boundaries many times, including blackmail and taking advantage of Daisuke's inability to respond to her forcible advances by threatening to scream that he is trying to molest her, when in fact it is her that is making those advances. Despite Rin's mischievous nature she has shown herself to care deeply for her friends and family, going to any length to defend them. Also much of her bad behavior is a result of trying to hide the traces of the vulnerable little girl she used to be as a result of a tragedy in her past.

Her friends at school are Kuro Kagami , whom she has known longest and whom is in love with her (despite being the same gender and has problem for dislikes boy), and Mimi Usa, a shy girl with glasses (and has problem with her mature body). Rin has become jealous of Houin due to the female teacher's attraction towards Aoki.Taking her "love rival", Hōin's, advice on how to get someone to like her to heart, Rin decided to try and earn Aoki's love with kindness instead of trying to take it by force. This change in strategy was part of what motivated her to volunteer for the position of class representative at the beginning of the next school year, a position which would both allow her use her influence over the other students to facilitate his job as a teacher and make sure her peers could make themselves heard.While her faith in and dedication to him are such that she has been willing to push herself beyond her limits, even to the potential detriment of her own health, it has been revealed that two additional, more sinister elements have served as the driving forces behind her actions.
